Create a Comic Competition!
Create your very own comic strip – and get published in Storytime!
We are proud to announce a new Storytime contest! We want our readers to create their very own comic strip, about your favourite funny animal and their adventures.
To get you started we’ve put together a Create a Comic! Activity Pack – which is a complete comics-creation class! It’s filled with amazing
tips and shows you how to come up with a story, sketch characters and a setting, giving them feelings and even add speech bubbles. You can download it here.
This year we have a special guest judge helping us to pick the winner. Nick Abadzis is an award-winning comics artist and writer. His creations include the graphic novels Laika and Hugo Tate and the Pleebus Planet comics for kids.
When you have completed the activities in this pack, draw your masterpiece on the entry form at the back and send it to us. We can’t wait to see them all!
The winner will have their comic strip published in Storytime, a fantastic book bundle, a signed copy of the ‘Laika’ graphic novel and a printed winners’ certificate. Good luck everybody!
The Rules
To enter, you can photocopy or cut out the form from your latest issue of Storytime, or download it from this link here. Then draw your comic strip on it and fill in your details.
Your comic and the characters featured in it must be original and must not have been published before.

The competition is open to children aged 4 to 9, and you don’t have to be a Storytime reader to enter.
